Low Carb Lasagna

Who says pizza crusts can only make pizza?

Last week, we experimented with our Italian Pizza Crusts and made this delicious lasagna with:

  • Meat Sauce
  • Spinach
  • Mozzarella, and ricotta cheese.

This low carb lasagna recipe takes about 40 minutes to cook, and makes a nutritious lunch and dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs of meat (we used 1 lb ground lean turkey & 1 lb hot Italian turkey sausage)
  • 4 Outer Aisle Italian Pizza Crusts
  • 1 large container of ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1 bag of shredded mozzarella (2 cups)
  • 1 bottle of pasta sauce (we like the Ragù with no sugar)
  • 1 bunch/bag of fresh spinach
  • Parmesan cheese

Cooking Directions:

1. Cook meat until browned and cooked
2. Add pasta sauce to the meat and heat thoroughly
3. Assemble lasagna in the following order:

  • 1/3 of the meat sauce
  • 2 Outer Aisle Italian Pizza Crusts
  • Spinach (really cooks down, don’t be shy, its healthy!)
  • 1/2 of the cottage cheese or ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 of the mozzarella
  • 1/3 of the meat sauce
  • 2 Outer Aisle Italian Pizza Crusts
  • 1/2 of the cottage cheese or ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 of the mozzarella
  • 1/3 of the meat sauce
  • Top with parmesan cheese

4. Heat oven to 350 and bake for 40 minutes until sides are bubbly

We hope you enjoy this creative recipe!

  • Love the outer aisle pizza crusts and will try the sandwich thins soon; my only complaint is that there is no way to print your recipes, or the fact that maybe you don’t allow it; I have no interest in sharing on Facebook and then trying to retrieve them from there; the ‘pin it’ feature goes nowhere on my computer so I am forced to sit down with a tablet and write out each recipe in longhand. Please fix this!

  • So you make it in a round pan?

  • Made the lasagna yesterday and it worked out perfect! Only feedback I would give you is the recipe misses some important things: what size pan to use (round, oval, square and size?), spinach – cook it a little first or just put in layers raw? (I cooked it down first a bit). And finally are the two crusts per layer layered on top or side by side? I used an 8” foil pan that worked perfect. Tastes just like “real” lasagna!
